Le Mura is a stone built Tuscan farmhouse which has been lovingly restored by a conservator. The name of the house, according to local historians, dates back to its etruscan origins. All the chestnut beams and cotto floors have been preserved. The inside walls are painted with the traditional white wash except where a piece of the original fresco has been uncovered. The house is simply furnished with a mixture of country antiques and contemporary pieces.

The original front door is reached by a small flight of stone steps, as it is in the tradition of the area. It opens directly into the spacious comfortably furnished Soggiorno (sitting room). The large traditional Tuscan Farmhouse Kitchen has a stone fireplace. The tiles are traditional hand-painted Lucchese tiles and the work surface is an antique Carrara marble bar top.

The original washing font is by the fireplace. In the centre is a local chestnut table which seats up to 14.

Baskets hang from the beams as they have done for centuries and can be used for gathering the organic fruit from our trees.
